RSS and Web 2.0 tools

I really enjoyed learning about RSS and Web 2.0 tools. Whenever I log onto my computer I have a typical order in which I check things: first my email, then my facebook, then craiglist, then ksl, then my blogs and my friends blogs. It was nice to see how you can just go to one webstie and check to see if there has been updates on any of them. To use this in my classroom, I would have my students add the school website (RSS) and their website where they access their grades (RSS) to their main website they visit- mainly their emails. That way they can see updates to their grades or to their school and keep updated.

  1. That's a great idea! Allowing your students to place RSS feeds on their e-mail accounts will not only be useful for them, but convenient as well. It would also serve as a great reminder for them to do their homework every time they check their e-mail accounts ;)

  2. I used the sites that were given on our course websites. For some of them you have to actually click on the RSS feed that you want in order to get the correct URL. So like when you go into the LDS RSS feeds site you click on the Daily Gems one to get that URL or else it won't work. Hope this helps!

  4. On the "Delicious" site, in order to add you, I need your "Delicious" user name. What is it?

When you go to add me, my "Delicious" user name is "alisa122."

  5. On the "Goodreads" site, in order to add you, I went to "Search for Friends," but I realized that I don't know what name I should look for you under. What name do you go by on Goodreads?

In order to add me, go under "Search for Friends" and type in "Danielle L."
